Madison Goodlatte

Hi! My name is Madison and I studied abroad twice, a semester in Santiago, Chile, along with a summer in Dakar, Senegal. My semester long program was like an exchange and I had the opportunity to take courses for my major, travel throughout the country, and immerse myself in Spanish. Following the fall semester, I wanted to go abroad again to immerse myself in french and explore another country. This past summer (2023), I spent six weeks in Dakar, a totally different type of program, more structure, only a few other students, living with a host-family, and immersing myself in both language and culture. This experiences allowed me to not only push myself and improve my language skills, but also open my mind to new ideas and perspectives. The opportunity to be able to live in another country is such a freeing and unique way to experience a place.
