Franklin Lopez

Hola! My name is Franklin Lopez and I'm a third-year studying Microbiology and Cell Science with a minor in International Studies and Environmental Science. 

For two consecutive summers, I did the UF Medicine, Microbiology, and Health program— the first summer in Europe (Hungary, Czechia, Switzerland, Germany, and France), and the second in Japan. The program revolves around learning the history of medicine and health in each country and how microbiology is incorporated in their daily lives, while immersing in the culture. 

Also, over the course of Spring 2025 semester, I did the UF in Costa Rica - College of Journalism and Communications Explorers, which consisted of evaluating ecotourism in Costa Rica and its impact on citizens, wildlife, and biodiversity.
