Caroline Carter

Hello! My name is Caroline (she/her), and I studied abroad in Italy with the UF in Pavia - Engineering and Arts in Italy program during the summer between my freshman and sophomore year (Summer 2021) and in Germany with the UF in Aachen - Engineering Research program in the Summer of 2023. The UF in Pavia program was perfect for me because I'm an engineering major, so it easily fit into my degree plan, and I had visited Italy before and loved the culture, people, and food, so I was excited to go back! The UF in Aachen program was a completely different but equallt exciting experience because I was able to complete a research internship at RWTH Aachen University and work in a cross-cultural setting. Studying abroad was not only a way for me to learn about myself, but also to connect with others, and I met some of my best friends during my time abroad (shoutout to Juana, Allison, and Maddie, who are also SAPAs). There is truly no experience like scaling the Cologne cathedral or running around the Coliseum at 3am, and I am so grateful for all of the amazing friends and memories I made while studying abroad.
