About Me:

Hey, fellow Gators! My name is Olivia and I studied abroad in Brisbane, Australia with a UF Exchange at the Queensland University of Technology as a sophomore during Spring 2020. I decided to study abroad because I wanted to experience a different part of the world and everything it had to offer including an international education with students who shared my passion for biomedical engineering. I found QUT as my perfect fit because I valued the autonomy of an exchange program, and I was fascinated by the practical class offerings that focused on infectious disease and immunity. While abroad I was able to form lasting friendships with students from all over the globe, explore Australia, and develop my interest in infectious disease and immunity. Studying abroad gave me an entire toolbox of new skills and experiences, and I am most grateful for the opportunities where I could practice courage and step outside my comfort zone. To students who are thinking about studying abroad but are intimidated by the idea of immersing yourself in an unfamiliar culture, push yourself be courageous and trust that you are more than capable.
