Neil Strayer

Hello! My name is Neil Strayer and I spent the 2021-2022 academic year abroad in Dublin, Ireland at Trinity College. As a history major, this program allowed me to explore my passion for medieval history at one of the British Isles’ seven ancient universities, in a city founded over a thousand years ago by Viking explorers. As an economics major, I had the chance to study the field in one of the fastest emerging economic hubs in Europe; home to the European headquarters of Google, Meta, and Microsoft—among others. However, perhaps most importantly, I was able to immerse myself in a different culture and establish new, meaningful, and ongoing friendships. No other experience in my time at UF has impacted my life and education quite so profoundly, and—although my time studying abroad has likely ended—I plan to live vicariously through all those who come seeking advice regarding their future international studies.
