Katie Usrey

Hello y'all! My name is Katie and my pronouns are she/her. I studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland through the CLAS Beyond120 Exchange Program at Trinity College Dublin as a sophomore. One of my major college goals was to study abroad, and through personal research and others' experiences I fell in love with Irish culture and the country itself. Trinity College Dublin is also one of the top universities in the world for my course of study, which made it easy to narrow down my program choice. Through the program I was able to cultivate life-long friendships with students throughout Europe, travel Ireland and attend courses on cutting-edge research at the same time. Studying abroad gave me the chance to experience life in a foreign country while exposing me to the culture of dozens at the same time. I treasure the nights on my couch with friends discussing our backgrounds as much as my solo train trips to various cities throughout Ireland because both helped me to grow and learn outside of the classroom.
