Hi! My name is Kaj (she/her)! I studied in Ireland with UF in Dublin as a freshman during the spring break of 2020. Before coming to UF, I knew I wanted to study abroad but was nervous about committing to a whole semester and thought it would not fit into my academic schedule. When I learned about the Introduction to International Engineering program to go abroad for only spring break I thought it was the perfect chance to experience study abroad on a smaller scale that fit my schedule. While abroad, I not only learned about how companies operate outside the United States, but it also showed me what my future could look like while working abroad in the future. Since I traveled with other UF students, I met friends that I can still hang out with today back in Gainesville. My experience opened up my mind to study abroad and I am eager to study abroad again for a whole semester or possibly intern abroad for the summer in the future. Choosing to study abroad with people I had never met before, to a place I had never been before was definitely out of my comfort zone, but It ended up being one of the best decisions I have ever made, and will never forget my time abroad.
